FLEXBOX Account Management
With our latest update, we introduce Advanced Management Features for Flexboxes and Accounts. These tools are designed to give companies the ability to manage access and users, and organize resources effectively. Here's everything you need to know about Account Management feature.
The Basics of Management
Every company using Flexboxes now has access to an account and resource management system:
- Account Roles:
- Accounts can be assigned one of two roles: Administrator or User.
- The first account created for a company is automatically an Administrator, with subsequent accounts defaulting to User roles.
- Administrators have advanced privileges, while Users focus on Flexbox access within assigned groups.
- Role Protections:
- The last Administrator account cannot be deleted, ensuring the company always retains administrative control.
What Administrators Can Do?
Administrators have the ability to:
- Enable or disable the Management feature for their company.
- Promote users to Administrator roles or revoke those roles from other Administrators.
- Delete normal User accounts.
- Create and delete Groups.
- Assign Flexboxes and Accounts to specific Groups.
- Plus: Administrators have the same permissions as normal Users, allowing them to connect to and manage Flexboxes.
What Normal Users Can Do?
Normal Users have streamlined permissions:
- They can view and connect to all Flexboxes assigned to their group.
- Group assignments help ensure focus and efficiency without granting unnecessary access.
Enable/Disable Management
One of the most powerful new features is the ability to enable or disable Management at the company level.
- When Disabled:
- Groups do not exist, and all Users automatically have access to all Flexboxes.
- This mode is ideal for simple setups or when granular control isn’t needed.
- When Enabled:
- Access is restricted until Groups are created.
- Only members of a Group can see and connect to Flexboxes assigned to that Group.
- Pre-existing Groups are not deleted when Management is disabled—they’re simply paused and can be re-enabled later.
Why This Matters
With these enhancements, companies now have more control over how Flexboxes are accessed and managed:
- Granular Control: Assign Flexboxes to specific teams or departments via Groups.
- Enhanced Security: Ensure only authorized Users or Administrators can access Flexboxes.
- Scalability: As your company grows, easily manage more accounts and Flexboxes without losing control.
